Polishing my essential question

O.k, Group 2 & Class, it took me forever to get my question. This one probably still needs polishing, but that is o.k. I posted everything on how and why I got to the Essential Question because it was easier to come up with this way.

First, I wanted my topic to include both parents and speech pathologists.
I also wanted to include ways that both (parents and SP’s) can help a child to not think so negatively about themselves. It is not true that all people with a disorder think badly about themselves, but many do have self-esteem issues.

Possible questions:
· How do phonological disorders affect both the parent and the child?

· How can speech pathologists work together to help the child focus on treatment and not the disorder?

From these 2, I put them both together and came up with the following Essential Question: What are effective strategies that speech pathologist and parents can use to help the child with a phonological disorder communicate effectively?

I think with this question I can use some effective strategies that help the child shift away from their disorder.
