My first essential question was, what is the most effective way that speech pathologists can help patients focus on treatment rather than on their disorder? This however was too broad and I needed to focus my question on a certain topic. I chose one of my interests, which is phonological disorders. I wanted to go with the same concept as my first question, but I realized that alone is not enough to research on. So, I changed my question around that would allow me to focus on my first question .
Well I changed my question again focusing more on what I wanted the first time. I chose not to focus on a specific disorder .

Essential Question: How can Slp's help children with communication disorders over come the negative impact that public perception can have on a communication disorder?

1. What are communication disorders?

2. How does communication disorders affect the live of the child?

3. How can a child's self-esteem be affected by having a communication disorder?

4. In what ways does the communication disorder affect their social communication?

5. What are strategies that a SLP can use to help the child improve their self-image?
